Accommodation Overview

Entrance (Accessible Entrance)

  • This entrance is located at the front of the building.

  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide with handrails on both sides.
  • There is a key fob/card reader at a height of 98cm.
  • There is a single automatic door at this entrance.

  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
  • The door has a high visual contrast.

Stairs

  • The stairs surveyed are located ahead as you enter.
  • The ground, first and second floors can be accessed by these stairs.
  • There are 17 steps between floors.
  • The steps are clearly marked and have a handrail on the left going up.
  • The handrail is not easy to grip.
  • The handrail covers the flight of stairs throughout its length.
  • The handrail does not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.

    • The door opens inwards and has a high visual contrast.

  • Bedroom Features View
    • The bedroom has a double bed.
    • The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.

Bathroom with Adaptations (Rear of Ground Floor Kitchen)

    • The bathroom surveyed is located to the rear of the ground floor kitchen.
    • The distance from the accessible entrance is 40m.
    • The most accessible route to the bathroom has step-free level access and automatic doors.
    • There is step-free level access into the bathroom.
    • There is written text signage on or near the door.
    • The door opens outwards and has a high visual contrast.
    • The width of the door opening is 77cm.
    • The door has a locking handle.
    • Internally the door has a high visual contrast.
    • There is not a grab rail on the internal door .
