Babbage Building to Smeaton Building

  • From the main entrance of the Babbage Building, take the slope to the left.
  • Then turn back on yourself to go down James Street, which has a long slight gradient.
  • After approximately 40m take the second path on your left across the Campus Park, down a long slight slope towards the Smeaton Building
  • The footpaths on this section are a mixture of block paving and resin bonded gravel.

Smeaton Building to Link Building

  • At the bottom of the slope turn left to go along Portland Square between the Smeaton Building on your right and the library on your left.
  • After approximately 40m turn right between the Smeaton and Link buildings
  • The footpaths on this section are block paving.

Link Building To Drake Circus Road Crossing

  • After passing between the two buildings, turn left before the steps and follow the long slight slope on the left, with the Link Building on your left.
  • Near the end of the slope take a slight right to the pedestrian crossing for Drake Circus
  • The footpaths on this section are block paving.

Drake Circus Road Crossing

  • Cross Drake Circus using the pedestrian crossing.
  • This is a traffic light controlled crossing with a level central island.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • The footpaths on this section are a mixture of block paving and tarmac.

Drake Circus to Regent Street

  • Once having crossed Drake Circus turn right down Drake Circus.
  • Take the path left after The Box museum up a slight slope to The Caffeine Club.
  • Turn right in front of The Caffeine Club down Tavistock Road.
  • There is a set of bollards to navigate, each bollard has yellow bands and there is over 150cm width between each bollard.
  • After approximately 28m turn left onto the right hand side of Regent Street.
  • The footpaths on this section are a mixture of block paving and tarmac.

Regent Street to Hampton Street

  • After approximately 70m cross the first road crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • After approximately 20m cross the exit for the Regent Street car park, be careful of cars coming out of the car park from your right.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • After approximately another 17m cross the entrance for the Regent Street car park, be careful of cars entering the car park from your left.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • After approximately 20m cross Hampton Street, and once across turn right down Hampton Street on the left hand side
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing, with a level central island.

Hampton Street to Cookworthy Building

  • Continue down Hampton Street, which is a steep slope, for approximately 55m where the access to the Cookworthy Building is on your left
  • The footpaths on this section are tarmac.
