Area Between Cockcroft Building Main Entrance and Pedestrianised Route

  • Continue up the route in front of the New Adelphi Building to the security barrier.
  • Pass the barrier to the right and cross the service road to the far side of the security hut onto the path.

Security Hut to University Road

  • Continue on the path which bears left to a marked crossing, and cross the road and turn right onto the path.
  • Follow the path round to the left and cross the road at the unmarked crossing and turn left.
  • The path is asphalt, uneven in places and has a slight upward slope.
  • The road crossings have dropped kerbs and tactile paving either side.

University Road to Broad Street

  • Continue up the path on University Road and go right at the top past the entrance to Salford Crescent Station and onto Broad Street.
  • The surface is asphalt and it is on a long slight slope.

Salford Crescent to Albion Way

  • Continue on Broad Street past the station and behind the bus shelter, over the railway bridge and down the slope towards a pedestrian crossing.
  • Before the crossing follow the path to the right 180 degrees onto Albion Way.
  • Then cross Albion Way using the pedestrian crossing.
  • The surface is asphalt and block paving at the bus stop, which may be uneven in places, and is on slight downward slope to Albion Way.

Albion Way Crossing to Statham Street

  • Continue on the path along Albion Way which merges onto Broad Street then turn right onto Statham Street.
  • The path is asphalt and narrows to 100cm past some sign poles.

Statham Street to Mary Seacole

  • Continue along Statham Street and through the pedestrian gate and some bollards to the paved area in front of the Mary Seacole building.
  • Then cross Statham Street via the marked pedestrian crossing.
  • The surface is even asphalt and paving slabs, with tactile paving either side of the pedestrian crossing.

Statham Street to the corner of the Allerton Building

  • After the pedestrian crossing continue ahead up the paved path which is on an easy slope to the corner of the Allerton building.
  • At the corner of the Allerton building turn right through 180 degrees onto a short steep slope, then turn left onto the asphalt path behind the building.

Allerton Building to the Entrance to Energy House 2

  • Continue on the asphalt path to some bollards which have a minimum 120cm spacing.
  • Turn right onto the block paved path then left in front of Energy House 2.
  • Continue on this path and the entrance to Energy House 2 is on the right.
