Alternative Routes (Ground Floor Level 00)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on the ground floor level 00 and the lifts are not working, there are alternative routes to level 01 and level 02 via a different entrance, or a different building.
      The route to level 01 is via the external entrance between the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY) and Edward Jenner Building (AX).
    • The approximate length of the route is 75m.
    • Access along the route includes steep slopes.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route and a key card or code is required.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • If you are on the ground floor level 00 and the lifts are not working, there is an alternative lift route to level 02 via the Edward Jenner Building (AX).
      This route is via the AX lift and back through the Edward Jenner Building (AX).
    • The approximate distance of the route is 250m.
    • Access along the route includes steep ramps.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route and a key card or code is required.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on the ground floor level 00 and the lifts are not working, there is alternate step-free external access to level 02 via Senate House Floor 2 and the external walkway to the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 01)

  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on level 01 and the lifts are not working, there is no alternative lift route to the ground floor level 00, level 02, level 03, or level 04.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 02)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on level 02 and the lifts are not working, there is an alternative lift route to level 01, an exit, or the ground floor level 00.
      The route to level 01 and an exit are via the adjacent Edward Jenner Building (AX) using the AX lift, and back through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
    • The approximate length of the route is 200m.
    • Access along the route is step free and level.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route and a key card or code is required.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • The route to the ground floor level 00 is via the external entrance to the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
    • The approximate distance of the route is 275m.
    • Access along the route includes steep slopes.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on level 02 and the lifts are not working, there is no alternative lift route to level 03 or level 04.
      There is an exit from the building on level 02.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on level 03 or level 04 and the lift is not working, there is no alternative lift route.
  • Assistance Required View
