Alternative Routes (Level 1)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on level 1 of the building and the lift is not working, you can access level 3 via floor 2 of the Austin Pearce Building (AP) using the lift and a link bridge.
      Exit the Rik Medlik Building (MS) via the main entrance and turn left, passing the bus stop on your right and head towards the (AP) Austin Pearce Building.
      Take the slight ramp to the right of the Austin Pearce Building (AP) main entrance and enter via the ground floor.
      Take the lift on the left to floor 2.
      Continue down the corridor to the left as you face the lift on floor 2 until you reach the manual doors at the end.
      Continue ahead and follow the link bridge until you reach level 3 of the Rik Medlik Building (MS).
    • The approximate length of the route is 120m.
    • Access along the route includes slight ramps.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If the lift is not working on level 1, there is no alternative step-free access to level 2.
      There is step-free access to exit the building on level 1 via the main entrance.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 2)

  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on level 2 and the lift is not working, there are no alternative step-free routes to access level 1, level 3 or to exit the building.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 3)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on level 3 of the building and the lift is not working, there is step-free access to level 1 via floor 2 of the Austin Pearce Building (AP) using a lift and a link bridge.
      Take the corridor to the right of the level 3 lifts and carry on straight down, turning right at the end and continuing towards the link bridge.
      Cross the link bridge and enter the Austin Pearce Building (AP) on floor 2.
      Carry on straight ahead along the teaching room corridor until you reach the end and the lift is located on the left after the corridor.
      Take the lift to the ground floor.
      Exit the lift and turn right towards the Austin Pearce Building (AP) main entrance and take the slight ramp to the left as you exit.
      Turn right and carry on along the path, passing the bus stop on your left and head towards the Rik Medlik Building (MS).
      Enter via the main entrance and you will be on level 1 of the building.

    • Access along the route includes slight ramps.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on level 3 and the lift is not working, there is no alternative step-free route to access level 2.
