Alternative Routes (Ground Floor Level 00 AY/AZ)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on Level 00, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is alternative lift access to Level 02. This route is through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY) and the AX lift to Level 02 in the Edward Jenner Building (AX), and back through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
    • The approximate length of the route is 150m.
    • Access along the route includes steep ramps.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on Level 00, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is no alternative lift access to Levels 01, 03, or 04 within the building. There is step-free internal access to Robert Boyle (AZ) Level 01 within the building. There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 01 AY/AZ)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on Level 01 and the AX/AY lift is not working, there is an alternative lift route to Level 01. This route is through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY), and via the AX lift to the ground floor exit of the Edward Jenner Building (AX). There is step-free access to Level 01 of the Robert Boyle Building (AZ) from the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY) on Level 00.
    • The approximate length of the route is 150m.
    • Access along the route includes a slight slope.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route and a key card or code is required.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • If you are on Level 01, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is alternative lift access to Level 02. This route is through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY) via the AX lift to Level 02 in the Edward Jenner Building (AX), and back through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
    • The approximate distance of the route is 180m.
    • Access along the route is step free and level.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on Level 01 and the lifts are not working, there are no alternative lift routes to Levels 03 or 04. There is alternate step-free external access to Level 02 via the Senate House (SE) Floor 2 via SE lift and the external walkway to the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY).
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Level 02 AY/AZ)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on Level 02, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is an alternative lift route to Level 01. This route is through the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY), and via the AX lift to the ground floor exit of the Edward Jenner Building (AX). There is step-free access to Level 01 of the Robert Boyle Building (AZ) from the Dorothy Hodgkin Building (AY) on Level 00.
    • The approximate length of the route is 180m.
    • Access along the route is step free and level.
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • There are manual doors to open along this route.
  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on Level 02, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is no alternative lift route to Levels 03 or 04. This is the only floor in the Robert Boyle Building (AZ) which has alternative step-free access via the AX lift. There is an exit from the building on Level 02 to the left of the lift.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (Levels 03 and 04 AY/AZ)

  • No Alternative Lift Routes View
    • If you are on Level 03 or Level 04, and the AY/AZ lift is not working, there is no alternative lift route.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.
