Alternative Routes (Ground Floor)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on the ground floor and the lift is not working, there is an alternative external step-free route to the first floor of the building via the rear entrance.
      At the lift, turn left and continue along the corridor towards the rear ground floor entrance which is located on the left.
      Exit the building and follow the path round to the left and then turn right at the end.
      Continue ahead up the hill towards Cathedral Court House 1.
      To the right of the building, follow the pathway until you reach a ramp on the right.
      Take the ramp towards the first floor entrance.
      Enter the building via the first floor.
    • The approximate length of the route is 95m.
    • Access along the route includes slight ramps.
    • There are automatic doors along this route.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • If you are on the ground floor and the lift is not working, there is an alternative external step-free route to the first floor of the building via the main entrance.
      At the lift turn around and continue along the corridor, exiting the building via the main entrance.
      Take the ramp on the left and turn right at the end, continuing down the hill towards the road.
      At the road turn right and continue ahead, turning right again at the roundabout.
      Continue ahead up the hill towards Cathedral Court House 1.
      To the right of the building, follow the pathway until you reach a ramp on the right.
      Take the ramp towards the first floor entrance.
      Enter the building via the first floor.
    • The approximate distance of the route is 140m.
    • Access along the route includes steep slopes.
    • There are automatic doors along this route.
  • Assistance Required View
    • If all lifts are out of service or you require emergency assistance please call 01483 682002 and Campus Safety will attend. Evacuation chairs are available.

Alternative Routes (First Floor)

  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 1 View
    • If you are on the first floor and the lift is not working, there is an alternative step-free external route to access the ground floor via the rear entrance of the building.
      At the lift, turn left and continue along the corridor towards the first floor entrance.
      Exit the building and continue down the ramp, turning left at the end.
      Follow the pathway and turn left, continuing down the hill towards the Teaching Block (TB) which is located on the left.
      Turn left as you face the building and carry on down the slope, turning right at the end.
      Enter the building via the ground floor rear entrance.
    • The approximate length of the route is 95m.
    • Access along the route includes a slight ramp.
    • There are automatic doors along this route.
  • Alternative Lift Route - Option 2 View
    • If you are on the first floor and the lift is not working, there is an alternative step-free external route to access the ground floor via the main entrance of the building.
      At the lift, turn left and continue along the corridor towards the first floor entrance.
      Exit the building and continue down the ramp, turning left at the end.
      Follow the pathway and turn left, continuing down the hill towards the roundabout.
      At the roundabout, turn left and take the next left up the hill towards the Teaching Block (TB).
      Carry on up the hill until you reach the ramp on the left.
      Take the ramp up to the main entrance and enter the building via the ground floor.
    • The approximate distance of the route is 140m.
    • Access along the route includes steep slopes.
    • There are automatic doors along this route.
