Access Guide
Introduction
- The route is between King's Cross Station King's Boulevard Entrance / Exit and the Granary Square Entrance to Main Entrance off Granary Square. The distance between the station the entrance is approximately 400m. There are slight slopes to along the route. There is seating located along King's Boulevard and in Granary Square. The surfaces along the route is primarily block paved.

Exit King's Cross Station via the King's Boulevard Exit and cross King's Boulevard
- The exit onto King's Boulevard is located to the west of the Station. (Photograph 1)
- There is a very slight slope on exiting the station as shown in photograph 2.
- The surface of King's Boulevard is block paved.
- There are bollards in front of you on exiting the station which can be seen in photographs 3 and 4. These have a width of 117cm between them.
- Continue to King's Boulevard, there is a slight uphill slope as you proceed.
- There is some seating around the Birdcage on your way up the to the road crossing (Photograph 6).
- The crossing across King's Boulevard tactile kerbs on either side the road is mostly level with the pavement (Photographs 7 and 8).
King's Boulevard to Good's Way
- Head up King's Boulevard towards and head towards Good's Way a distance of approximately 240m.
- The surface of King's Boulevard is block paved.
- There is a slight slope along King's Boulevard with resting areas provided.
- There is seating along the Boulevard some of which has armrests.
Good's Way Crossing into Granary Square
- On reaching Good's Way you will be able to see a Zebra Crossing in front of you which you should use to cross the road (photographs 1, 2 and 3).
- There is a tactile drop kerbs on either side of the road.
- The surface of the crossing itself is brick block paving.
- Upon crossing the road turn right and head towards and then cross the bridge over the canal (photograph 4).
- There are bollards on accessing the bridge with a width of 140cm (photograph 5).
- There is a slight slope up and down along the bridge which has a block paved surface.
Granary Square to Granary Square Main Entrance
- Head straight across Granary Square towards the main entrance in front of you.
- There is a slight slope downwards from the Canal Bridge.
- The surface of the square is block paving.
- Seating is available within Granary Square (Photographs 2 and 3).

- This information is for the entrance located off Granary Square.
- This entrance gives access to the area beneath A Block.
- The entrance area/door is clearly signed.
- This entrance is signed with 'UAL: University of the Arts London'.
- There is step-free access at this entrance.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
- There is a dark mat or floor marking at this entrance that might be perceived as a hole.
- The entrance door(s) does/do contrast visually with its immediate surroundings.
- There is not a bell/buzzer.
- There is not an intercom.
- There are no doors at this entrance.
- The width of the door opening is 200cm.
- There is a second set of doors.
- The door(s) open(s) automatically.
- The door(s) is/are double width.
- The width of the door opening is 170cm.
- This entrance leads into the area beneath Block A at the main building in Granary Square to access the reception area you must head first through this entrance and then into the reception area via the reception entrance. There is an alternate entrance near the barriers to the main building which can be seen in photographs 4 and 5. These automatic doors have a width of 175cm. The area between these doors can be seen in photograph 6.
