- The Chiltern Building is a medium sized building with 4 floors.

Parking and Public Transport

- The venue shares a car park which has Blue Badge parking available.
- The nearest train station is Marylebone Station.
- The nearest underground station is Baker Street.
Getting Inside
- There is level access into the Chiltern Building off the Podium area of the Marylebone Campus. Access to the Podium Area is via the main entrance of the Marylebone Building located off Marylebone Road which has step-free access via a slight ramp.
- There are multiple entrances into the Chiltern Building.
The main entrance has a set of double manual doors and leads to the Chiltern Building lift.
There is a single manual entrance to the right of the double manual doors. This is permanently held open and has a width of 84cm.
There is an opening of over 150cm with no doors to access the ground floor corridor leading to rooms CG43 and CG44.
There are separate entrances accessed off the main campus Podium into CG42, CG01, CG02 and The Orla Gough Lecture Theatre CG28. - The main entrance is signed as Chiltern Building.
The entrance to the right of the building is signed as Chiltern Building (Financial Market Suites 1 and 2).
There is no signage at the entrance to rooms CG4 and CG43.
There are separate entrances accessed off the main campus podium into CG42, CG01, CG02 and The Orla Gough Lecture Theatre CG28 are all clearly signed with the name of the room accessed.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building.
- There are some floor surfaces along the circulation routes of the building on the ground floor which are hard and smooth with a shiny finish.
Floor surfaces in some areas of the ground floor and throughout the first, second, third and fourth floors are carpeted.
The flooring on the first, second, third and fourth floors was covered at the time of survey (May 2025) with shiny material due to ongoing works. - There is a resting area along the corridor on the ground floor that gives access to CG42, CG43 and CG44.
- There is wayfinding signage and maps throughout the building.
- There are manual doors located along some corridors of the building.

- There are 3 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on the ground, first and third floors.
- The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
- The female step-free toilet facilities are located on the ground floor.
- The shared step-free toilet facilities are located on the first, second, third and fourth floors.
Entrance
- This entrance is located off the central Atrium of the Marylebone Campus.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- The doors open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 124cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
Lift
- The lift surveyed is located just beyond the main Chiltern Building entrance.
- The distance from the main Chiltern Building entrance is 10m.
- The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access.
- The ground, first, second, third and fourth floors are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The external lift control buttons have tactile markings.
- The lift door opening width is 105cm.
Stairs
- The stairs surveyed are located just beyond the main Chiltern Building entrance.
- There is a single manual door to access the stairwell.
- The ground, first, second, third and fourth floors can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 20+ steps between floors.
- The steps have low visual contrast markings and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 18cm.
- The depth of the steps is between 30cm and 45cm.
