View
- 309 Regent Street is a large building with nine main floors to the front of the building, with an additional 10 floors which are split level from the main floors to the rear of the building.
- The lower main floors are signed G for the ground floor, B for the basement, and B2 and B3 for the sub-basements.
- The higher main floors are signed 1 for the first floor, up to 6 for the sixth floor.
- The eight additional floors to the rear of the building, designated as upper floors from the main floor they are split level from, are prefixed U.
- These are signed UG for the upper ground floor, and U1 for the upper first floor, up to U5 for the upper fifth floor.
- There also additional rear floors signed as LG for the lower ground floor, UB for the upper basement floor, and B2 for the higher of the sub-basement levels.
- Floor UB does not appear on the majority of wayfinding signage.
- There are internal step-free entrances from 307 Regent Street Cinema and 311 Gallery Coffee Shop adjacent.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free.
- There are three entrances into 309 Regent Street which provide access to the reception area on the ground floor.
- There is an external accessible entrance, an external stepped entrance, and an internal entrance which is also stepped.
- The accessible entrance is named as 307 Regent Street and is signed as 'REGENT STREET CINEMA'.
- The stepped entrance is named as 309 Regent Street and is signed as 'UNIVERSITY OF WESTMINSTER Formerly THE POLYTECHNIC Founded by QUINTIN HOGG'.
- The internal entrance is from within the Gallery Café which has an external entrance which is signed as 311 Regent Street and is signed as 'The Gallery Coffee Shop'.
- The accessible entrance provides step-free level access via platform lift to the Regent Street Cinema foyer, after which a staff member will escort visitors via a step-free level route to the reception area of 309 Regent Street.
- There is level access from within the Gallery View Café.
Getting Around
- There is step-free access throughout the building to all main floors.
- Routes between some rooms and services may require the use of more than one lift.
- Some rooms and services have stepped-only access.
- There are three clearly marked steps with handrails on both sides located at two doorways off the Old Gymnasium on floor B2 for access to the Students' Union Hideaway on floor B.
- These steps can be overcome by taking Lift B from floor B2 to floor B, then Lift A1 or Lift A2 to floor LG, then Lift C via the Old Gymnasium to floor B.
- Access to Rooms B03-B24 on floor B2, is via five poorly marked steps with handrails on both sides.
- There are two well marked steps without handrails for access to Room 158 on floor U1.
- There is a slope with a steep incline for access to the front of Lecture Theatre UG05 towards the rear of the building on floor UG.
- There is a slope with a steep incline and two steps for access to Room UG07 towards the rear of the building on floor UG.
- There is a short slope with a steep incline along the corridor into floor U2 from the main stairwell.
